Laura Maulbetsch, CPDT-KA, is the owner of Brilliant Borderhauss Dog Training in Howell, MI and has been training dogs and their owners for more than 20 years. With a passion for teaching and a great respect for what our dogs are telling us, Laura is best known for her compassionate teaching methods that incorporate choice and positive reinforcement.

She has a special interest in helping families navigate the world of kids and dogs through TAGteach. Laura currently offers a variety of classes and private lessons to meet her clients needs including puppy, family skills, and agility.  She held the CPDT-KA certification and is working on her CBCC-KA. Laura is an AKC-CGC evaluator, and a Certified Trick Dog Instructor-CTDI and is a member of TAGteach.  

When Laura is not teaching, she enjoys training her own dogs in the sports of Agility and Nosework.  Laura’s compassion led her to adopt two wild Mustangs and is currently using her knowledge of co-operative care and choice-based learning to train her Mustangs with positive reinforcement. 

Laura holds degrees from Ball State University and The University of Michigan with a Masters of Music. 

She shares her life with her husband, Paul, her two daughters, Gabby and Ellie, 2 dogs, 4 horses, a cow, 2 sheep, and ducks and chickens.
